Justin: Welcome to MPA’s Tech Table. I’m Justin.

Diana: And I’m Diana.

Justin: And we’re your hosts. We’ll be serving up a heaping spoonful of all things tech.

Diana: We promise, it will be easy to digest. Hi Justin.

Justin: Hi Diana. You know it’s a Friday.

Diana: My favorite day.

Justin: It is your favorite day, and you know, we always talk about Friday favorites, which if you use Twitter, it is the hash tag FF for Friday Faves, that’s what people do. So, you went around the office, asking people about fashion trends.

Diana: Yes, this could be fashion Friday, really.

Justin: It could be.

Diana: Well, fashion trends come and go.

Justin: They do, and they tend to come around, what do they say?

Diana: They come around again.

Justin: Ten years, twenty years? Something like that?

Diana: I think it’s twenty to thirty years. Because right now, the eighties fashions are huge again.

Justin: It’s true.

Diana: Big shoulder pads, bright neon colors, all that.

Justin: Right, and I remember when in the mid two thousands, like, flared jeans came back, which is more of a seventies style.

Diana: There you go.

Justin: Yep, I had a few of these huge bottoms on then, you know. They were not really bell bottoms, but they were big, they were flared. Interesting.

Diana: Yes, so what I did was I asked two questions of each person I said, number one, what favorite fashion trend from the past do you wish would come back into style, and number two, what fashion trend do you hope never returns?

Justin: Right.

Diana: So it’s kind of fun

Justin: It is fun.

Diana: Now Justin, you were the first to respond, and you’re favorite fashion trend that you wish would come back, you said no idea.

Justin: I have no idea.

Diana: But you did have an answer for what you hoped would never come back.

Justin: Yes, fat short ties. People used to wear, there was a time when you wore those really thick, you know, fat ties and then you tied them so they were very short. Which made everyone look very bad in my opinion. And I as a guy, I did not like that. Now the thin ties are in right now.

Diana: Yes.

Justin: I’m not a huge fan of that trend either.

Diana: You like the more standard tie.

Justin: I like the more standard tie, you know. But those fat short ties, that, that time period was not good.

Diana: Jodie, she wishes anything from the forties would come back. She’s kind of like in the retro. And you know what, I think you can, wear anything from, you know, any era if you just have confidence.

Justin: That’s right. But I think different body styles carry things differently.

Diana: That’s true. Very true.

Justin: For sure.

Diana: So what she didn’t want to return ever was crimped hair. She says yikes.

Justin: Yes, I remember everyone having crimped hair.

Diana: Now David was funny guy. Okay, our CEO. His answer to the first and second question was basically, fashion? Trend? What’s that?

Justin: Yeah, exactly.

Diana: So we got a whole lot of nothing from him.

Justin: Right. David for a while used a personal shopper.

Diana: Yes.

Justin: I know. But I think he’s stopped that.

Diana: He felt like he learned what he needed to know.

Justin: I guess so. I don’t know. I think they were kind of dressing him the way he always dressed before them, but.

Diana: That’s a problem.

Justin: Yeah.

Diana: Chris now, he’s a real fashionable guy. No, not really.

Justin: Not really.

Diana: But he asked did t-shirt and jeans ever go out of style? If they did they shouldn’t have. And what he hopes never returns really, oh, what’s he say. I really don’t know what this word fashion means. My goodness, this place is full of geeks.

Justin: It’s true.

Diana: I liked John. Did you see his response?

Justin: Yeah, John wishes that bell bottoms would come back into style. I don’t thing we’ve ever.

Diana: He’s worn bell bottoms before.

Justin: Well, I’ll have to give him my pair of, cause they’re very long legs and I was very thin then. So they might fit John, the jeans that I have from like 2004, so. But are almost bell bottoms, but a modern day version.

Diana: Yes.

Justin: And then Donny for what, favorite fashion trend from the past that you wish would come back into style, Donny say I really do not do trends, but he likes teal, so if it has teal in it, he’ll wear it. That’s very Donny.

Diana: Yeah, but he will avoid anything plaid.

Justin: So, look through your closet, and see what you’ve got, see what you want to pull out from a decade gone by maybe. Mom, intent. Until next time.

Diana: Take care.
