Q&A with Diana

She’s is a lady of many hats.
(And shoes, and handbags, and…well, you get the picture.)
But really, Ms. Upton-Hill specializes in several things here – includingsocial media!
  1. For those out there who haven’t jumped onto the social media band wagon, could you give us a brief rundown of just exactly WHAT it is?
Social media is basically any virtual “community” where you can interact with other people. It’s most often used by accessing an account on a website or by connecting through an app on your mobile device.
  2. Why would anyone use social media?
You can create things, share photos & videos with family, play games, exchange information & ideas, and network with people you know; you can even make NEW friends!
  3. What are some social networks?
The most popular, by far, is Facebook, butMySpace is making a comeback – I’m anxious to see where that one goes! There’s also Google+LinkedInYouTube, and so much more. I remember a few years ago I had an account on hi5…had to look it up, but that one is still going strong as well.
  4. Are businesses using social media?
They absolutely are! It’s amazing what can be achieved, even just using the free tools of the various social networks. It’s cool because even the smallest business can have an online presence, making it easy to connect with customers each and every day.
  5. What would you say to someone who’s a little leary of trying out one of these tools?
I say, jump right in! Typically the worst outcome is “wasted” time. :) But if you’re still hesitant, we can help you with one-on-one trainings and zero-stress assistance, focusing on whatever you feel is important.
