his week’s question: Theo asks “What kind of music do you listen to?”
Moire’s answer: Thank you, Theo, for your question. My musical tastes are as broad as the ocean is deep, my friend. Of course, I, as any civilized feline does, enjoy the soothing, soulful sounds of jazz as well as the intelligent poetry of the classics. Artists like Coltrane and Fitzgerald are on my playlist as are the composers Brahms, Wagner, and Beethoven. Still, when the mood strikes me I can also groove to Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, and of course Madonna (There is a girl that works across the street from me that has exposed me to more Madonna than safe for any cat – and so, I’ve become addicted).
You might find it surprising I’m also an avid fan of country music. I like that sassy Miranda Lambert, always will love Dolly, and nothing can compare to the guitar genius of Vince Gill. That being said, who is this Taylor Swift person? I saw something that resembled a stick with wig on top of it singing on CMT the other day and they told me that it was Taylor Swift. Supposedly the biggest thing in country music, now crossing over to pop, touring the world and inspiring millions of little girls… hmmm. I wondered to myself, “Inspiring millions of little girls to do what– get voice lessons so they don’t end up sounding like that!?”
Oh, there I go again! I digress. As you can see I haven’t even brushed the surface of my real feelings on music. Purrhaps I should write more about this in the future?! Alas, it is up to you, my good readers. Let me know what you want MOIRE to write about….
