So I Got Some Complaints…

December 13, 2013

As I reflect on my column last week, I realize that it might have seemed rather materialistic. I understand, and agree, with the plight of several readers who contacted me to say such things as … “Moire, we expected an intellectual creature, such as yourself, to discuss the need for giving during a season like this…” And then there was this message: “Moire, you beautiful feline specimen, I’m slightly surprised that everything on your Christmas list was for you, and nothing for others. Where is the spirit of giving?”

Alas, I see the error of my ways. While I was having fun writing a wish list to send to Mr. Santa Claus, I did, if only for a moment, forget the spirit of the season. GIVING. I am here to tell you, as I am reminded myself, if it weren’t for the kindness of others I would still be a stray kitty. I would still be fighting for every meal and feeling no love, no affection, and no petting. Even having to deal with the tight-wad, fun hater COO at MPA. I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Now I encourage you, not only this holiday season, but all year ’round. Love your fellow human and animal. Show them generosity and caring, for that is what the spirit of this season is truly about.

Fondest Regards,
