Moiré in the Music City – Part II

November 22, 2013

(Continued from Moire in the Music City – Part I)

The next morning I awoke with a start!  My iPhone was buzzing feverishly. (I hate ring tones… all of them.) It was Ms. Overlog’s assistant on the other end telling me that the entertainer’s dresses would only be arriving two hours before the telecast, and that there would be no time for the proper alterations to be made before going live on the air. It was time to SPRING into action. I texted my ‘secret weapon’ and made a dash to the CMA venue.

I arrived – not without properly grooming myself first, of course – to find Ms. Overlog crying hysterically. (A slight over-reaction you might think, but not to someone who relies on her appearance as much as on her stellar vocal ability.) At the very moment that I was just starting to calm Ms. Overlog with my sly kitty charm there was a knock at the door.

In walked my most fabulous friend, fashion designer to the stars (and winner of the 4th season of Project Runway), Mr. Christian Siriano. Christian just happened to be in town for a friend’s wedding — thank God for Twitter or I wouldn’t have known! And of course, being the renowned designer that he is, Christian never travels anywhere without at least a couple spare couture gowns at his disposal. He whipped Ms. Overlog into an ethereal pink gown and sent her on to do the show! (He also managed to magically perform the alterations on all nine of her other looks as well. Truly a professional!)

So you see, friends, my trip to Nashville was perilous, yet victorious – both for MPA’s client, Mitch Goudy (who secured a radio tour while on our trip) and for Country music’s biggest night, the CMAs!

I wonder where my next adventure will take me…

Fondest Regards,
