Do I pay taxes?

June 28, 2013

This week’s question: Jared asks, “Moire, do you have to pay taxes?  My mom and dad pay taxes and, as much as they complain, it must not be fun!”

Moire’s answer: Jared, the wonderful thing about being a kitty cat is that the government has yet to figure out how to charge me a single cent of tax!  I must say that I wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow did figure out a way to put the SQUEEZE on my tail!  But, at this point, I’m free from the burden of taxation.

Now, as far as your parents complaining about taxes… Let’s be positive, Jared, at least your parents pay their taxes.  I mean if they didn’t then what would happen?  Mommy and daddy would end up in jail.  And where would that leave you, Jared?  A sad story, indeed.

So next time your parents are complaining about taxes throw your arms around them and say “Mom and dad, thanks for paying your taxes.  I never want to be a ward of the state!”  I’m sure they will get the message.

Until then, my fine furless counterparts, remember this:  Jail is often a worse option.

Fondest Regards,

MOIRÉ

Moire The Cat

I am a cat. A cat that has done more, seen more, and been more than most men will ever know. My pedigree is defined by modest lineage but I have risen to be one of the finest. One of the most humble, modest, handsome, intelligent, regal, charming, and cunning felines you may ever meet. I often have 'run-ins' with the MPA tight-wad, fun-hater COO, Justin over such things as spa visits and luxury grooming. Having a cat with the skills I possess is not in-expensive. I don't come with a manual and there is no 'figuring me out'. I write a weekly column called "ASK MOIRE" where my faithful readership gets advice and suggestions for a healthy, more balanced life by sending questions to this email address: MOIRE@ASKMPA.COM
