You ask.

QuestionBubbleI understand Windows XP is unsupported now, and I’m OK with that. I’ve replaced my computer, but I’m not sure what to do with the old one?

AnswerBubbleSuch a great (and timely) question! The first thing I would mention is that in most cases, older XP machines do not typically have much monetary value, so, unfortunately, you shouldn’t expect to sell them or trade them in. Most times we simply suggest you dispose of them.

You can dispose of equipment safely and in a “Green” manner by taking it to many technology/computer businesses! We at MPA offer a FREE disposal service, in fact. You can bring over any old monitor, tower, laptop, etc. and we will ensure it’s disposed of properly.

One thing you’ll want to consider in addition to general disposal, is what will happen to your data. Well, you have a few options:

1) You can format the drive yourself before bringing it to us, OR
2) You can remove the Hard Drive from the computer yourself and keep or dispose of that in any manner you wish.

Lastly, any computer that is brought in to US for disposal, we will ensure that the hard drive is either totally gone, or physically destroyed.
